The spread of dengue has been on the rise, making it a critical health concern throughout the island. In this regard, Union Manushyathwaya, partnered with the Divisional Ministry of Health (DMOH) and the Public Health Department (PHD) of the Colombo Municipal Council, to implement Dengue awareness programmes.
Apart from the awareness programs, a special set of programs were conducted with the schools aimed at initiating behavioural changes of the children within the community to address the dengue issue.

Dengue Pilot Project By Union Manushyathwaya
The first ever dengue pilot project executed within Sri Lanka which was commenced on 5th of January 2017 in Kirulapana, Siddharthapura Housing Scheme successfully completed the first phase of the project on 20th January 2018. The overall project was successfully concluded during the month of June producing valuable insights on preventing Dengue.
This special project was aimed at initiating behavioural changes of the children within the community to address the dengue issue.
